2nd Sketch Model

I have been experimenting with the following design on sketchup:

Below are a few views of the models upper ground and shape of the below studio. I used the arcs that are part of the middle show-ground as a way to allow natural light into the underground studio. The whole structure (minus the arcs) is highly geometric to create a sense of unity in the building as a whole.

As compared to my first sketch, I have now learnt how to integrate a landscape into the design. I have also learnt how to make a slightly more sophisticated and proportional looking building.

Stair Designs

Stair Design for Jiro Ono. In [1] I incorporated the delicacy of his dishes in the creation of a light, intricate looking staircase. On the second design I was more concentrated on the layered details of his designs. The sketchup model for the second design is shown [3], illustrating the intended use of colour and materials in achieving a stair specified for the client. [4] shows the stairs with the addition of hand rails.

Stair design for Antonio Stradivari. I incorporated the details of the designs used in his violins. [6]

Sketchup Model 1

Here are a few views from my first attempt at sketchup.

Above is the reference image I used as inspiration for the creation of this first sketch model. The above space is intended for Jiro Ono (Contentemporary), with much of the designs inspiration coming from the clean cut lines in his designs. The lower space is intended for Antonio Stradivari. Inspiration for this design came from the classic dome shapes of concert halls which promote great acoustics.
Below is the 3D rendering of the above image.

First Activity

A: Best piece of creative work before coming here.

This is a cropped section of one of the experimental works I completed during my HSC. Completed using paints and colouring pencils.

B: Great piece of architecture.

Glass Farm by MVRDV
"This shop and office complex by Dutch architects MVRDV is disguised as an old farmhouse, but its walls and roof are actually made from glass... Using a fritting technique the architects were able to print the images straight onto the glass, creating the illusion of brick walls and a thatched roof." (via Dezeen
C: An original photograph of something beautiful.

Some scenery from my grandmother's house in Bosnia. This was taken when I went overseas in 2010.
